Bangalore, officially known as Bengaluru is one of the major center of IT industcry in India and also one of the most hip and happening city in India. Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka, a major southern state of India. Bangalore is currently ranks as India's most developed city and one of the world's fastest growing urban areas. The mild climate makes a prefect destinations for tourist to visit Bangalore all year round. There are greenery and many public parks in Bangalore due to which it was also well-known as Garden City of India. Also well-known as Silicon Valley because of its preeminent position as the nation's leading IT employer and exporter.
Besides the numerous gardens, Bangalore also has some fine historical sites and other places of interest that are worth watching and is one of the most tourists centers of the Karnataka state. The tourist attractions abound in this place and thus draw hordes of tourists each year by their enduring charm.
Tourist Attractions:
Lal Bagh: Lal Bagh is must see while visiting Bangalore. Also well known as Botanical Garden, foundation of the Lal Bagh was laid down by the Hyder Ali, Emperor of Mysore. Later it was completed by his son Tipu Sultan. Its center of attraction is Glass House. The Lal Bagh garden has over 1,000 species of flora and trees that are over 100 years old.
The garden surrounds one of the towers erected by the founder of Bangalore, Kempe Gowda. The park has some rare species of plants brought from Persia, Afghanistan and France. The Lal Bagh Rock, one of the oldest rock formations on earth, dating back to 3000 million years, is another major tourist attractions of the Lal Bagh, Bagalore.
Lal Bagh remains open daily from 6.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. throughout the year. For the benefit of joggers, tourists and fitness enthusiasts, entry is free from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. At other times, a fee of Rs.10/- is charged.
Cubbon Park: Cubbon is one of the interesting tourist spots of Bangalore and located within the heart of the city. Sir Mark Cubbon, the then viceroy of India laid this park in the year 1864 and the engineer of Cubbon Park was Sir Richard Sankey, the then Chief Engineer of Mysore. This beautiful park, which spreads over 300 acres, serves as the lung space of the evergrowing Banglore city. Cubbon Park is dotted with indigenous and exotic botanical species, beautiful statues, ornamental and flowering exotic trees, fountains and a library its midst.
The State Archeological Museum, built in 1876 by Colonel Sankey, one of the oldest in India, is located within the Cubbon Park.
Vidhana Soudha: Vidhan Soudha, an imposing building, constructed in the style of Neo-Dravidian style, is the largest Legislative building of India. It was conceived and executed by Kengal Hanumanthaiah, the former Chief Minister of Karnataka in 1956. It is also called as Taj Mahal of South India.
Attara Kacheri: Karnataka High court is located in building called Attara Kacheri. This red brick building is in front of Vidhana Soudha. It is two storied building and has been built in neoclassical style. he construction of the building was supervised by Rao Bahadur Arcot Narayanaswamy Mudaliar and completed in the year 1868.
Bangalore Palace: Bangalore Palace was built to look like a small replica of the Windsor Castle in Bagalore. Built in the year 1887 by Wodeyar dynasty, it is adorned with magnificent woodcarvings and Tudor-style architecture on the inside.
Brigade Road:
Brigade Road is famous for the shopping centers and international brand oulets. It is one of the biggest commercial centre and busiest shopping areas of Bangalore. Situated in the heart of Bangalore, has got many shops, restaurants, pubs and other happening places.
Commercial Street: Another commercial center of Bangalore.
MG Road, Bangalore: MG Road is the most important landmark of Bangalore and is also called "South Parade". It is one of the busiest road in Bagalore and has many office buildings, shops, restaurants, theatres.
Tipu Sultan's Fort & Palace:
Tipu’s Sultan Fort & Palace is a must seeing tourist place in Bangalore. It architecture and layout blends a perfect Mughal Style. The intricately carved arches of the Tipu Sultan Fort have been built as per the Islamic style. Another major attraction of the fort is the well-preserved Ganapati temple situated inside it.
On either side of the Palace are beautiful gardens, which lead to its main entrance. There are beautiful floral motifs embellishing the walls as well as the ceilings of the Tipu Sultan Palace in Bangalore. Tipu Sultan used to conduct the affairs of the state from the eastern and western balconies of the upper floor. After the death of Tipu sultan, the palace was used by the British as their secretariat, till the year 1867.
Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum: This museum is homage to Sir. M. Vishweswaraiah the Architect of modern Karnataka, a must see for students and Science buffs, Which presents the amazing wealth of modern science.
Visvesvaraya Museum is not a 'museum' in its classical sense, It is more of a "Science center". It comprises of five galleries, namely Popular Science Gallery, Kimbe Paper Metals Gallery, Children's Science Gallery, Electronic Technology Gallery and Engine Hall Gallery. A major attraction of the Visveswaraya Industrial and Technological Museum comprises of its mobile science exhibition. A new gallery named " Science for Children" is opened to the visitors from 30 April 2007.
ISKCON Temple:
ISKCON Temple is dedicated to the lord Krishna. ISKCON Temple is a blend of modern technology and spiritual harmony. It is the finest fusion of modern and traditional elements of architecture. The temple also offers staying facilities for bramacharis, devotees and people taking short term courses offered here.
Mayo Hall: Mayo Hall is one of the finest designs of British architecture and was designed in the memory of Lord Mayo.
St Patrick's church: St. Patrick’s church, situated on Residency Road, Bangalore is one of the oldest church, built in year 1844.
Bull Temple: Bull Temple also known as Nandi Temple is dedicated to sacred bull in Hinduism, known as Nandi, Lord Shiva's vahana. Kempe Gowda, the founder of Bangalore, got the Bull temple built during his time. There is huge idol of Nandi Bull inside the temple, measuring 4.5 m in height and 6.5 m in length. This idol is said to have been carved out of a single rock.

There are numerous lakes in Bangalore. Most lakes were constructed in the Sixteenth century by damming the natural valley systems by constructing bunds as there are no rivers close by.

Ulsoor lake:
This lake is located in Halasuru nearby MG Road, Banglore and is one of the biggest lakes in Bangalore. Facilities for boating, park, children's play area, fountains, Ganesha Chaturthi immersion place are available.
Sankey tank:
Sankey tank or lake is a man made lake and was built by Col. Richard E. Sankey of the Madras Sappers Regiment, in 1882, to meet the water supply demands of Bangalore.
Puttenahalli Lake:
Puttenahalli lake is located near Yelahanka, 14 km north of Bangalore. It is famous for more than 49 species of birds breeding here. The lake will have watch towers, trekking paths, guides to identify birds for tourists and other basic facilities.

Bannerghatta National Park, is a home for one of the richest natural, zoological reserves.

How to reach Bangalore
By Air:
Bangalore international Airport, known as 'HAL Airport' is situated on Airport Road about 6km from the city centre. This busy airport is divided into three terminals with over 70 international and domestic flight landings everyday. There are number of daily flight from Bangalore Airports to cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad.
By Rail:
Bangalore City Railway Station is the main railway station in Bangalore. It is well connected to all major Indian cities. Bangalore is well connected to all major Indian cities by rail. Several super fast trains such as Shatabdhi, Brindavan, Lalbagh express connect Bangalore to Chennai.
By Road:
Bangalore has a large bus terminus, which is near the railway station. Major National Highways connects Bangalore to Chennai and Mumbai. The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) conducts a number of tours and excursions around the city.
