The ‘City of All Seasons’ Bangalore
is if anything is a landmark tourist destination with an array of
gardens, parks and great historical sites. It is one of the fastest
growing cities in the Indian subcontinent and a major commercial
and industrial hub of the country. Most importantly the city, which
is also referred as the Silicon Valley, is renowned for being the

In 1537, a Magadi Chieftian called Kempe Gowda
I, erected a mud fort at a place in the south, which was referred
as ‘Gandu Bhoomi’ or Heroic Land. He then with the assistance
of a king built three beautiful towns inside the fort complex. His
son later erected four watchtowers to demarcate the boundaries of
the city. Then came the Mughals, who further extended and fortified
the city. The city got further beautified under the British rule
in India. And today this very city identifies itself with many nicknames
that say-‘Silicon Valley’, ‘Fashion Capital of
India’, ‘Garden City’, ‘The Pub City of
India’ and so on.
The city is one of the must visited tourist spots
in the country. Its various historical, religious and contemporary
sites promise a great holiday. Experience the most imposing building
structure of the city, the Vidhan Soudha, a neo-Dravidian architectural
splendor. It is the largest secretariat in India and houses the
Karnataka State Legislative Assembly. If you are a nature lover,
step into the oasis of verdant greenery –Cubbon Park. Along
with the rich flora, the park also houses some important institutions
including memorial hall, museums and clubs. The Lal Bagh is another
important site with a riot of flowers. Within the vicinity of Lal
Bagh there lies a magnificent glass house. For the religious minded
visitors, the city presents an array of splendid temples and shrines.
