About Uzbekistan Airways
Uzbekistan Airways

The Company
Safety of flights, excellent service on the ground and in the sky, cordiality and real east hospitality are the main principles of our work.

Uzbekistan Airways National Air Company was founded on 28 January 1992 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov.

Soon after its establishment a national program of civil aviation in independent Uzbekistan was launched including the complete reconstruction of new air terminal complexes, re-equipping airports in accordance with ICAO requirements and establishing a base for training professional staff.

The country's air code was accepted and soon the modernization of the entire air traffic control system started with the aim of meeting international standards. This launched civil aviation in Uzbekistan into a new era and today Uzbekistan Airways National Air Company is on the list of leading air carriers in the world.

Uzbekistan Airways, upon entering the world market of international aviation, aimed at increasing its international destinations, establishing regular flights to more than 20 international destinations. Tashkent, along with some of regional cities of Uzbekistan, has direct links practically with many major European cities, the US, Japan as well as Southeast Asian countries. All international routes use western-produced lines including Boeing-767/757's, A-310's and RJ-85's.

At the same time, liners from large international airlines land at Tashkent Airport on transit flights. This main air gate to Uzbekistan, as well as the international airports of Samarkand, Bukhara and Urgench (Khiva) serve both passengers and liners according to international standards. The Termez Airport is presently being reconstructed.

The air fleet of Uzbekistan Airways is being completely renewed in order to meet ICAO requirements especially in the area of ecology. The fleet of Uzbekistan Airways liners includes five Boeing - 757 and 767's with some more added at the beginning of the year.

The Maintenance and Repair Center for western-produced liners, the only one of its kind in the CIS, operates as part of Uzbekistan Airways. The Center has an international Certificate to repair these liners and conduct A-checks and C-checks. The Center does work for other air companies as well. More complicated checks such as D-checks have also been mastered by specialists at the Center.

The Uzbekistan Airways' services, meeting all international standards, make it possible for the airline to compete successfully on the international market of the air transportation, moving forward wit confidence. The aviators of Uzbekistan are grateful to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, and all the Government of the Republic for their great support and practical assistance in the development of civil aviation in Uzbekistan. Multi-million dollar credit for the modernization of Uzbekistan's civil aviation branch was received with Government guarantees.

It is important to emphasize that safety and high quality are our main criteria. Awards and Certificates have been given to Uzbekistan Airways by the International Fund of Aviation Safety "For Outstanding Achievements in Providing Passengers with Safe Flights" are evidence of our success. Despite all the awards won by Uzbekistan, our greatest encouragement have been the confidence passengers flying with Uzbekistan Airways have placed in us. The number of passengers is increasing constantly - in the last year two million passengers were transported by Uzbekistan Airways.

It is true that after ten years all Uzbekistan's aviators are proud, and have reason to be proud. This first tenth anniversary both in the life of the country and in its civil aviation will go down in the chronicles of Uzbekistan as a memorable event because the passed decade has visually confirmed the truth of the course of development of a country where aviation plays a significant role.
